The original, much sweeter nursery rhyme, 'Mary had a Little Lamb' was first published by Capen & Lyon, a publishing company in Boston, USA.
It was based on a true story of how a certain Mary Sawyer took her pet lamb with her to school one day and caused a general distraction. Such were the innocent times. Click here for more information.
